Driver scores have been updated through 2520 (051625)

Service - scores continue to be great for the most part. Some people still need to reduce 04’s but understanding their route at dispatch and knowing what businesses could have a non standard close time. Also, the later the dispatch, the more you may have to change your route mid way to make an effective delivery. It’s important to know that the routes are not static. The route sequence at the beginning of the day is just a start. You need to able to understand when adjustments need to be made to meet a delivery or pickup window.

RYDE - scores getting better but still need improvement. We continue to have the same careless errors. This needs to get better and if not the constant offenders will be disciplined with suspensions and termination.

Service - scores were great. Please continue to understand when your businesses close so you can avoid 04’s.

RYDE - scores were awful. We continue to have the same careless errors. This needs to get better and if not the constant offenders will be disciplined with suspensions and termination.

Overtime Bonus

Because of the fact that JBC pays by the day, everyone should recognize that Straight Time Overtime is 100% the discretion of management and is considered a bonus and not hourly pay. We do however have a consistent methodology to how we pay this out because we value your time and consider some circumstances beyond the drivers control where they should not suffer the consequences for working extra hours. Weekly we consider the following:

1) We pay for greater than 9 hours a day.

2) Punch in time before 8:00 AM is not counted as our average dispatch is after 9:00 AM

3) Drivers stop rate should be equal to or greater than the number we have for each route. These range between 18 and 23 stops per hour.

4) If you get paid for extra stop pay this will be in lieu of overtime

Should you have any questions on above or if you have questions as you see your weekly pay, please reach out to Larry.

Route Sequencing

It has been mentioned on many occasions that you are responsible for the sequencing of your typical route. Feedback should be given to Darlens if you want to change anything. He will evaluate each change to determine if it is in the best interest of overall service and productivity.

Service scores were mostly good but as a team RYDE took a few steps backward.

Coded Stops are a Waste of YOUR TIme

I’d like to point out that JBC only get’s paid from FedEx if the stop was delivered. So if you go all the way to a stop and end up coding the package for any reason, we do not get paid for that effort. Since we do not get paid, that stop also doesn’t count for you as part of your stop threshold. It ends up being a bigger waste of your time to get all the way to the stop and if there is a problem leaving before asking a BC for help, than staying an extra few minutes and resolving the problem so the stop is delivered

Stop Threshold Calculations

There has been a few questions as of late regarding stop threshold pay. Everyone should realize that stop thresholds are calculated on a weekly basis. To do this we take the number of days that week you worked and multiply it by your daily number. That becomes your weekly number. We then look at how many stops you ACTUALLY delivered and picked up and add those for the week. If that number is higher than your weekly number you get paid extra. If it is not, you do not get paid extra. Any questions please let me know.

The team killed it with our highest level service scores and RYDE scores ever. Hard work and focus pays off. This however is the standard we must keep. The goal continues to be coming back to the station with an empty truck. Never be satisfied making the trip all the way to the customer and NOT making the delivery. Our BC’s are standing by to resolve issues before you leave the address.

We are GOLD again

JBC has once again attained the highest level contractor raking of GOLD. Our fall from gold to silver was mainly due to the integration of the Bynes Transportation operation and now that assimilation is complete, we expect to retain our gold status indefinitely. We are gold because our valuable drivers are gold.

Integrity

Integrity is doing the right thing even when no one is looking. It is taking responsibility of hitting a mailbox when no one was there to see it but you. It is coding packages correctly knowing that the exception will hurt your score but it’s the correct code. It is meeting a pickup window when you have extra time in the day and you know if you somehow work around the time you will be able to get home earlier. Our pillars of success are Safety, Customer Service, and Productivity. None of this would be possible without our unshakable foundation of Integrity. Violations of our code of integrity will be

Trending Numbers Added

We have added a chart at the bottom of the drivers total score page which shows trending over the past 12 weeks. This chart will tell you if you are improving, staying the same, or declining.

A good start to the day will help keep your day smooth and will ultimately increase your service levels. What does this mean?

1) Arrive at the terminal on time, our recommendation is by 8:30 AM at the absolute latest. Doing this will allow you to organize your truck as the sort is going on. If you show up later it's likely that more packages will be piled outside your truck and organizing your truck will take longer. Also, later start means a later finish. With most businesses closing in the 5:00 PM time frame you will have less time to service businesses as your route flows and will have to cut your route to make sure you get to them on time. A code 04 because you missed the operating hours of a business is specifically not allowed and will not be tolerated.

2) When the sort is done, finish organizing your truck and get out of the building. There is no reason to sit around chatting with your fellow drivers as again this will have an impact on how your day flows. Organize and leave as soon as possible. Get on your route right away. By now you should already have had your breakfast etc. and it's time to work. Eat your breakfast on your own time before you get to the terminal.

3) Have a positive attitude. How can anyone ask for help before the day even starts? Our BC's are constantly reviewing progress throughout the day and will anticipate someone needing help. You stops are your stops. This is how you get paid and you are expected to keep up your part of the deal just like we do.

Thanks and as always let me know if you have any questions

Driver Score Update

  • Score has been updated through week 2515 (041125).

  • We changed the way we score major events to a percentage of weeks with no occurrences in the past 12 running weeks. This helped a couple of you and hurt no one

  • We had a significant increase in ILS to the point where we were far better than the terminal. We need to keep this up every week. Please continue to work of code 04’s to let Darlens know open business hours.

  • Our RYDE scores went down considerably. Please understand where to look to find correct package location. Most of our poor scores were on one day for some reason. Let’s please get better and more consistant here

  • New people will have lower scores until they figure our routes and understand what our customers want. We understand this but do expect continuous improvement

  • If your scores are low please understand that it take just a few weeks of good scores and bad ones falling off the end to improve. Stick with it and you will see results

Major Events are serious issues

Major events are categorized as events that affect our KPI’s as monitored by FedEx. These are SEAT BELT, STOPPING, SPEEDING, and DISTRACTED DRIVING. If anyone has an accident when one of these are considered as an offending issue, it’s most likely FedEx will require a 30 day suspension. Please make sure you understand that your job is in jeopardy when knowingly committing these violations.
